Are Steel-Framed Buildings Expensive?

Many of our clients are pleasantly surprised when we give them the price for their new steel-framed building.

It seems many people are under the misconception that steel-framed buildings are expensive. However, steel-framed buildings are often a lot more cost-effective to make and build than those using traditional materials and methods.

But why is this the case? Surely steel would be more expensive? There are various reasons why choosing a steel-framed building saves you money:

- A steel-framed building is very quick to erect and build, saving you money on labour costs. You can also choose to erect your Graham Heath Construction steel-framed building yourself, bringing further cost savings. We simply deliver your pre-built frame to your site, with everything you need. We also have our own dedicated construction team of course, who can install everything for you.

- A steel-framed building has lower maintenance costs than those built using other materials. It requires little or no maintenance over the course of its life, unlike timber framed buildings.

- Choosing a steel-framed building may give you cheaper insurance rates. Steel does not burn, so it less of a fire risk than timer-framed buildings.

- You can easily alter a steel-framed building by adding on new sections if you need to expand your space as your business grows. So there’s no need to pay for a new building from scratch.

- At Graham Heath Construction we can help you every step of the way, producing the right drawings to secure you planning permission and regulations, saving you time and money.

- Steel-framed buildings are cost effective – there is little wastage steel, reducing the cost of raw material. And they’re built exactly to your specification, bespoke to you. All Graham Heath steel-framed buildings are cut to exactly the right size, and pre-drilled, before arriving on site, saving further time and expense.

- Steel-framed buildings from Graham Heath are built to a method designed to save money, using as little steel as possible yet still giving a strong and durable result.
