The Cooper family got in touch with us here at Graham Heath Construction when they were thinking about their next building for their arable and beef farm in Wiltshire. They’d had a livestock shed from us a few years ago and were very happy with it, so we were their first point of call!
Easton Farm has been with the Cooper family for over 100 years and is 700-acres in size. As part of its business aim to produce high quality food in a sustainable and profitable way, they needed a new grain store facility and machine storage.
They ordered this 30m x 24m x 6m grain store and lean-to extension with hot dipped galvanised steelwork. Finishing the steel in this way ensures protection for up to 70 years and is maintenance free. More information on the benefits of galvanised steel can be found here.
Concrete panels were supplied by sister company Concrete Panel Systems to a height of 4m on the grain store and 2m for the lean-to. When we asked Ben Cooper if there were any features of the build that he was particularly pleased with, he mentioned the concrete panels. We asked Ben a few more questions about the service and building received as follows:
What were the aims and objectives of the build?
“To create new storage for arable crops to replace our old storage facilities which were out of date and at the end of their useful life.”
Were there any specific material or design requirements for the build?
“Colours were chosen to blend in with countryside and minimize impact.” The family chose green cladding for the sides and ends of the build and roof cladding in a natural grey.
Why did you choose Graham Heath Construction?
“Good value and well built.”
Do you have any other comments?
“Any small issues we had with the building were quickly resolved until we were completely satisfied. We are really pleased with the quality and commitment of Graham Heath to its customers and would recommend their barns.”
We’re delighted to hear that the Cooper family are happy with the buildings and service received by us and look forward to working with them again on their future building projects.
