This year, Graham Heath Construction (GHC) will be attending this pivotal event – and here’s everything you need to know about it.
What is it?
The Cheshire Ploughing Match is an annual event which forms the highlight of the agricultural calendar. The history of the event claims it was actually started by a group of Cheshire farmers in order to settle an argument over who had the best hedge layers and ploughmen.
Nowadays, the event tours the country to deliver one of the best working demonstrations of agricultural life. Showcasing the skills of traditional crafts such as hedge laying and horse ploughing, the annual Match gives a great insight into Cheshire farming.
For 2014, there will be more than 120 trade stands and over 100 entries in the vintage and classic tractors competition.
When is it?
This year, the event will take place on Wednesday 24 September at Ashley Hall Farm in Hale, Altrincham.
How much does it cost?
Admission to the event costs £10 with FREE parking available for attendees. The ploughing competition will start promptly at 10:00 and attendees are advised to arrive in good time.
Who will be there?
With more than 120 trade stands, there will numerous exhibitors arriving at this year’s Cheshire Ploughing Match and Graham Heath Equestrian are proud to be among them.
