One of our most recent customers, Equestrian Surfaces; a manufacturer of all weather riding surfaces for equestrian use, asked us for an Indoor Riding Arena for their customer, Marwood Arena. Marwood Arena is run by Sarah Tubbs, who recently achieved her Level 4 Coaching Certification. Sarah wanted this brand Indoor Riding Arena to be the place where all her coaching takes place and since the opening of the arena, she’s been super busy and has shown great success. Marwood Arena is based in Barnard Castle, County Durham.
The Graham Heath Construction Team were contacted to produce a quote for the steel framed building, which also included the use of the very stunning Highlight wall cladding. This wasn’t the first riding arena for the end customer, as they originally had a 40m x 20m Outdoor Arena. The aim was to make the original arena unrecognisable, turning it into the stunning indoor arena it is today.
To begin the project, the old surface and fencing was removed, the grounds were relevelled and landscaped, and footings were prepared ready for the erection of the steel framed building supplied by ourselves. The inside had new internal boarding fitted throughout, alongside Equestrian Surfaces’ non-waxed training surface – this provides a stunning finish to the grounds.
The exterior of the riding arena was fitted with Juniper Green cladding on one side, but the stunning Highlight cladding on the right side and gable ends. Despite this cladding being used many times before, this was a first for Graham Heath Construction. Highlight cladding is a perforated steel side cladding sheet, manufactured from pre-galvanised steel coil which is polyester painted on both sides. Our customer’s choice was Juniper Green on the exterior and light grey on the internal. The steel wall cladding gives superb ventilation and light transmission.
